LES CHORALIES - from August 3 to 11, 2022

The biggest choral singing event in France is celebrating its 70th anniversary from August 3 to 11, 2022 in Vaison-la-Romaine (Vaucluse). Organized every three years, the Choralies bring together for 9 days no less than 14,000 festival-goers of around twenty nationalities, on the occasion of more than 70 concerts and around forty musical workshops open to all. The evenings at the Théâtre antique, whose program mixes jazz, classical, pop and world music, will welcome this year several renowned groups and in particular the singer Pomme. The ticket office opened in May is accessible online.

Since their creation almost 70 years ago, in 1953, the Choralies have established themselves as an unmissable event for vocal music in France and around the world, attracting thousands of participants to the heart of Provence, in Vaison- la-Romaine, which inherited the label of European Choral City. 

A highly anticipated moment for music enthusiasts, the festival is also an opportunity for the general public to discover the vitality of the French and international choral scene during more than 70 concerts on 7 stages spread throughout the city, including 8 exceptional evenings at the Ancient theater. Each of them is preceded by a striking and characteristic experience of the Choralies: the Common Song, which unites the 5,000 voices of the Roman Theater at sunset. 

The Choralies are also the festival of choral practice and offer, to amateurs as well as to those in the know, an unprecedented offer of 40 collective practice workshops, under the direction of renowned choir conductors. For a duration of one to eight days, these workshops bring together singers from all over the world to work on a work or a thematic repertoire and sometimes present it in concert. The equivalent of 10,000 days of training-pleasure are thus offered to the public in just 9 days. 

As a major meeting place for choral singing, the festival also offers a program of meetings and conferences for singers, conductors, musicians and managers.
